On Wed. Nov. 1 the annual Seniors’ Health Fair was held at the Seniors’ Friendship Centre between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. It was an opportunity for seniors to get free flu shots and visit information tables set up by various organisations including: Seniors Connected, Northern Health Nutrition and Mental Health, Chronic Pain Group, Diabetes, MEDIchair, Men’s Shed, Northern Brain Injury Group, Square Dancing, Hospice, RBC Estate Planning and Hearing Life.
Cards were given out which could be used to collect signatures from each information booth and then be entered into a draw for a door prize.
There was a complimentary lunch with coffee/tea and dessert provided by members of the St. John Hospital Auxiliary. It was another successful event with a steady flow of people attending throughout the day, many visitors sat down at tables and enjoyed socialising with friends.
