Health fair targeted at-risk populations in Chilliwack

Info in spades at the Fifth Annual Neighbourhood Health & Wellness Fair at Five Corners in Chilliwack

There was free pizza, warm clothing and tons of health-related information on offer Monday at the health fair.

It was the fifth year University of the Fraser Valley has held its Neighbourhood Health & Wellness Fair at Five Corners, with the help of students studying to become nurses, dental assistants, kinesiologists and more.

Hannah MacDonald, director of the UFV School of Health Studies, said multiple faculties and departments came together to plan the health fair.

“It addresses a wide variety of health issues and resources and activities that we have in the building,” she said.

It was targeted at the whole neighbourhood, all ages, and particularly the more vulnerable population downtown.

“It’s been a wonderful outreach event for our programs and students.”

The event is on until 4 p.m.
