East Kootenay Foundation for Health (EKFH) announced the appointment of Cassandra Schwarz as its new Executive Director.
Ms. Schwarz brings several years’ experience in fundraising, non-profit leadership and community service to the role. Ms. Schwarz most recently served as the Admissions & Development Coordinator for the Aberdeen Hall Preparatory School as lead for donor stewardship and engagement and the coordination of the organization’s annual and capital campaigns.
Wes Rogers, Chair of EKFH said, “We are very excited that Cassandra will serve as EKFH’s next Executive Director. Her experience and knowledge of the non-profit sector will lead EKFH into its next phase of fundraising for the hospitals and health care facilities located in Interior Health’s East Kootenay Service Area.”
Ms. Schwarz also brings breadth of experience in strategic planning, collaborative fundraising, research and grant writing. One of her signature achievements was her time spent with the Kamloops and District Elizabeth Fry Society, where she raised funds to create the first women’s second stage housing complex in the area.
Ms. Schwarz said, “I am honored to be given the opportunity be the new Executive Director of EKFH. I look forward to working with the Board of Directors and the East Kootenay community to continue the great work of the Foundation.
An active outdoors person, Ms. Schwarz enjoys hiking, mountain biking and wakeboarding. She holds a Masters of Science from University of Glasgow and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Calgary.
