Flooding on Hwy37 south slowed motorists down this morning as a section of the road near Furlong Bay campground was flooded under about a foot of water.
Ministry of Transportation official Don Ramsay said heavy snow had blocked a culvert, which runs underneath the road,
This coupled with flooding from beaver dams in the area caused water to flow over the highway.
“This is an area commonly known for its draining problems caused by beavers,” Ramsay said.
Traffic was controlled by maintenance crews for the morning and part of the afternoon although Ramsey said the problem is fixed now.
