Helicopter needed to transport Mission pedestrian

A man was struck and injured on Hurd Street on Wednesday (April 1) afternoon.

A Mission man was struck by a motor vehicle on Wednesday (April 1) afternoon.

The accident occurred at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Hurd Street, close to Van Velzen Avenue.

While there is no information on the seriousness of the man’s injuries, the decision was made to call in a medevac helicopter.

The victim was taken by ambulance to Mission Raceway, where the medevac was able to land.

The pedestrian was placed on a stretcher and loaded into the helicopter.

He was flown to Royal Columbian Hospital.
