Ian Lindsay is headed back to the B.C. Children’s Hospital Miracle Telethon this weekend with the support of the local
RE/MAX offices for about the ninth year in a row, the local realtor said.
RE/MAX has been involved for years through their miracle home initiative in which they donate a portion of every commission to the worthy project.
“The children are our future. I have three children, a grandchild and another on the way and that’s what really gives us a passion for life,” Lindsay said. “We’ve been very fortunate that we have had no major issues, but it’s great (B.C. Children’s Hospital) is there, able to help families in their time of need.”
“It’s incredible what can be done there,” he said, pointing out Vancouver hospital is “designed for children with special equipment and support.”
He stressed the importance of the hospital to local families with 161 young patients from the Parksville Qualicum Beach area making 467 visits to B.C. Children’s in 2014.
He said B.C. Children’s also helped establish the crucial pediatric clinic at the Nanaimo hospital, which saves over 3,000 trips a year to B.C. Children’s.
“Looking back on the years of involvement I often feel that we are all so fortunate to have had people with the vision to create such a hospital in the first place. Yes that has created a responsibility but also an opportunity to help take care of health challenges that involve our your people.”
Lindsay will be part of the RE/MAX Miracle Maker Panel live on Global TV Saturday, May 30, 8-9:30 p.m. Call 604-333-5446.
