Hemlock Valley Community Members came out to support Cancer Research on Sunday Feb. 13.
The Slopes for Hope function is an annual event at Hemlock Valley Resort and this year the participants raised $3,300 in support of cancer research.
The idea behind the event is to make enough runs down the mountain to equal the height of Mt Everest. This equates to about 25 runs from the top of the mountain to the base at the day lodge, which is very tiring on the legs, according to participants.
The participants give their groups names and dress up to fit the name. This year the group went with the “Hemlock Heart Throbs.”
