THE FIRST pancake breakfasts are being served at the firehall in Terrace this mornng in what has be become a July 1 ritual.
Proceeds go toward a victims’ burn fund maintained and supported by professional firefighters across the province.
And later on in the morning, festivities get underway at Heritage Park.

“During our Canada Day Celebrations this year, we’re very excited this year to offer an extensive silent auction to raise funds for a downtown museum.
The event runs from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Come bid on return-trip flights to Vancouver, helicopter rides, gift certificates, jewelry, designer purses, and more!
Throughout the day, there will be live music ranging from the Copper Mountain String Band to Jonny and the Instant Soap Opera. There will be Tsimshian and Nisga’a dance groups, birthday cake, chainsaw carving, and historical demonstrations like blacksmithing, horse logging, gold panning, and natural dyeing.
Multicultural food vendors include Redneck Kitchen, Café Zesta, Velma’s Filipino Kitchen, Kim’s Burger Bus, Nisga’a Tacos, and Mui’s Spring Rolls.
Throughout the day, there will be children’s activities such as gold panning, paper making, French finger knitting, historical scavenger hunts, sack races, face painting, balloon darts, and tug of war.”
