UPDATE: Three people sent to hospital late Friday morning following a two-vehicle crash along Highway 97 in Kelowna.
At 11:58 am, the RCMP received a report of a two-vehicle collision, with serious injuries near the intersection of Highway 97 and Old Vernon Road. A northbound silver car apparently attempted to perform a U-turn and was t-boned by a silver truck.
The male driver of the silver car was extricated from the vehicle by the Kelowna Fire Department. The male passenger was also removed and both were transported to hospital with very serious injuries.
The female driver of the truck was able to get out of her vehicle however was transported to hospital with serious injuries.
At this time, police are continuing to investigate this crash. Neither speed or alcohol are considered to be contributing factors.

UPDATE 12:45 P.M. RCMP report that Highway 97 at Old Vernon Road, near the Kelowna airport, is now reopened after an accident this morning.

Motorists are being advised that Highway 97, near Kelowna International Airport, is closed.
At about 10:20 a.m., RCMP officers attended to a collision involving three vehicles at the highway and Old Vernon Road.
The highway will remain closed until further notice.
