Motorists are advised of an incident on Highway 6 just past Lumby.
Drive BC reports a major vehicle incident six kilometres east of the village, which shut down the highway earlier this morning, around 4 a.m.. The road is now open to single lane alternating traffic.
One witness reports seeing what appeared to be the aftermath of a logging truck fire.
“It looked like the cab of it burnt down,” said a motorist, who came upon the truck just before heading up Shuswap hill at approximately 7 a.m. on her morning commute from Cherryville to Vernon. “I didn’t see any other vehicles involved.”
