According to DriveBC, there will be scheduled avalanche deposit removal on Highway 1 between Golden Donald Upper Rd and Kicking Horse Rest Area for 10.1 km (Golden). Expect 20 minute delays, with the status to be updated at 2 p.m.
Highway 1 will also be closed between Yoho Valley Road and the B.C./Alberta Border for avalanche control work, with no detour available. The highway is scheduled to re-open 12:15 p.m.
Heading west, Highway 1 will additionally be closed in both directions heading towards Revelstoke, between Illecillewaet Brake Check and Hemlock Grove Boardwalk starting at 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.
There will be additioanl maintaince along Highway 1 just west of Golden, around Quartz Creek FSR. Expect 20 minute delays in both directions, and watch for traffic control.
Additionally, watch for compact snow causing slippery sections on the highway in both directions.
Watch for slippery sections on Highway 95 as well, between Golden and Radium.
