TERRACE residents wanting to know more about the hijab covering worn by women of the Muslim faith are encouraged to come out to the Terrace Public Library Dec. 8.

There’ll be members present of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community in an informal setting beginning at 6 p.m.

The gathering is part of a national campaign of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community following the recent terror attack in Paris and hate attacks on Muslim women around the world, says a press release from the Ahmadiyya community.

“This campaign hopes to give Canadians an opportunity to hear from Muslim women firsthand and understand what their faith and identity means to them,” states the release.

Founded in 1889, the Ahmadiyya community spans over 200 countries with membership exceeding tens of millions.

This isn’t the first time Ahmadiyya representatives have visited Terrace.

In previous years it hosted annual forums exploring topics across different faiths.

The session at the library is expected to wind down at 8 p.m.
