The Vernon Panthers have made history.
The No. 1-ranked Panthers will become the first Vernon school to play for a B.C. high school football championship after defeating Richmond’s Hugh Boyd Trojans 21-7 in the Subway Bowl B.C. AA High school senior varsity semifinal Saturday afternoon at B.C. Place Stadium.
Ben Hladik had two touchdowns, according to the VSS Twitter feed, and younger brother Bradley returned a fourth-quarter interception for the other major.
The Trojans blocked two VSS field goal attempts.
Vernon will play the Seaquam Seahawks of Delta in next Saturday’s final at B.C. Place.
The Seahawks defeated the G.W. Graham Grizzlies of Chilliwack 26-7 in the other semifinal.
