Learn a lot about Vernon’s past by visiting the cemetery.
The Vernon and District Family History Society presents its annual Pleasant Valley Cemetery Tour Saturday at 9:30 a.m.
In honour of Vernon’s 125th anniversary, society members will tell you about some of the city’s pioneers who lived in the city in 1892, and you can learn their history.
Among the graves to be visited will be those of John Mackelvie, John Campbell, Robert Bell, William Pound, William Megaw, Clement Costerton, Frederick Meyer, William Cochrane, Thomas Crowell, Rueben Swift, Samuel French, Edward Thompson, John Burnyeat, William Armstrong, Gideon Milligan, Samuel Smith and Price Ellison.
There will be three tours this year. The other dates are Aug. 19 and Sept. 9.
