Terrace RCMP are thanking witnesses for their assistance in helping to identify a driver involved in the hit and run of a 12-year-old boy last month.
On November 25 at approximately 3 p.m., the boy was walking in the crosswalk at the north end of the Sande Overpass and Greig Ave. intersection when an elderly driver travelling east on Hwy 16, turned to go south on the overpass and struck and knocked down the boy.
The boy suffered injuries to his left leg and foot, said police.
The driver stopped initially and then left prior to ensuring the boy’s well-being and exchanging information, said police.
Criminal code charges are not being forwarded in this incident, said Terrace RCMP spokesperson Const. Angela Rabut.
