A large crowd of family, friends and military personnel turned out on a damp and grey Thursday morning to greet HMCS Regina and her crew who returned to CFB Esquimalt after an eight month deployment in the Arabian Sea area.

The 225 crew members conducted maritime security and counter-terorism operations while at sea.

HMCS Regina left Esquimalt on july 3, replacing HMCS Charlottetown. HMCS Toronto will replace the returned HGMCS Regina.
