Hockeyville details coming soon

It’s anticipated the National Hockey League and Kraft will make an announcement June 11 on the pre-season NHL game

Final details about Kraft Hockeyville will soon be made public.

It’s anticipated the National Hockey League and Kraft will make an announcement June 11 on the pre-season  NHL game between the Edmonton Oilers and Los Angeles Kings.

“They will announce where it will be played and how we will give out tickets,” said Mayor Kevin Acton.

The possible locations for the game are Pat Duke Memorial Arena in Lumby, Kal Tire Place in Vernon and Prospera Centre in Kelowna.

Acton admits many residents want to know what is happening with the game.

“People think we know the details already but we don’t know any more than anyone else,” he said.

The June 11 announcement will take place during Lumby Days.

“It’s always well attended but having the announcement will bring more people in,” said Acton.

Along with hosting the NHL game, Lumby won $100,000 in arena upgrades when it clinched the Kraft Hockeyville title.
