The CP Rail Holiday train entertained hundreds of delighted Shuswap residents as it made stops in Sicamous and Salmon Arm – including the special first-ever stop in Canoe.
Canoe residents went all out for their stop, gathering the largest crowd of the night, and filling a canoe with food for local food banks. There were fireworks, bonfires and kids hockey.
It was also one of the coldest Holiday Train nights in recent memory, with temperatures below -10 C. Dressing warmly was especially important, as the train was delayed and was more than an hour past the scheduled start time when it arrived in downtown Salmon Arm.
