The community’s homelessness initiative is moving forward on several fronts, school board chair Candace Spilsbury told her colleagues Feb. 14.
She has been attending meetings with a variety of agencies and levels of government because there were a number of homeless youth discovered camping out behind the school district offices at the end of last summer.
“There are a lot of initiatives going on in the community, and there’s the Homeless Count on Feb. 21,” she said, adding that March 6 is Everyone Should Have a Home Day.
“Things are happening out there,” Spilsbury concluded.
