Honeymoon Bay could lose all the fun happenings at its hall if helpers don’t step up soon.
Finding volunteers is a problem everywhere and now it’s hit the Honeymoon Bay Community Society.
“We’re in desperate need of board members. If we can’t find people, we’re going to have to shut it all down,” said Jean Atkins, society chair.
Shut down?
That means a lot of great community events that happen in or around the Honeymoon Bay Community Hall just won’t happen.
“The meat draws, Bay Days — we do that, movie nights, the fall bazaar: that will all be gone. It’s wicked,” Atkins said. “We need directors. Two of ours are leaving,” she said.
The Community Society is holding it’s AGM on Tuesday, Feb. 7 at the Honeymoon Bay Community Hall starting at 7 p.m. so head on up there and see what you can do to help keep this valuable service going.
