People catching the bus in Hope, and across 18 of BC Transit’s networks, can now use a mobile app to plan their route and check when the next bus is set to arrive.

The app is called Transit and can be used in the Chilliwack transit system, which includes Hope, as well as the central Fraser Valley, on Vancouver Island, Sunshine Coast, the Okanagan, Kootenays and other locations. Users of the app can see nearby transit options and departure times, as well as plan their trips with the help of real-time estimated times of arrival and step-by-step navigation.

Under their agreement with the Transit app, BC Transit stated they will receive “anonymized usage data” that will be used to improve things like planning and customizing the app to better serve app users. Details can be found on the BC Transit website.
