Letter to the Editor,

The latest rumor is that school students will be schooled in the presently vacated small school district building on the corner of 16th ave, and highway 3 starting the fall of 2018.This corner is the busiest route area in all of Creston. The situation of traffic controlled intersections is the constant buildup of vehicle exhaust. The logic is simple. All vehicles are emitting exhaust steadily when they are either in motion or idling at a traffic stop. It creates a double effect whether the light is green or red. One route is waiting for the light to go green while the other route is moving through. All the vehicles are spewing exhaust. Most times lately during daylight hours there is a lineup of vehicles in the red light on lane whether it is 16th or Highway 3. The adjacent building has to circulate air particularly when a high number of people are in the building. Studies show that the brains of people are still developing up to the age of twenty. The one thing brain cells do not need is more exposure to air pollution. How the minister of education would allow a school board to choose the worst option available to create this situation is hard to understand. There are other buildings available.

Sincerely,

Pat Doyle, Creston
