Within two days, two thieves targeted Hudson’s Bay stores, managing to steal hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of jewelry in overnight smash and grabs.

Langley RCMP were called for an alarm in the very early morning hours of April 7 at the Bay in Willowbrook Shopping Centre.

Officers arrived to find the suspects had already left the store and more than  $200,000 worth of jewelry had been stolen from the display cases.

A review of the surveillance footage shows what is believed to be a newer black Toyota pickup with a 2x 8 post in the truck’s bed smash into the east doors of the Bay.

Two men, one in mechanic overalls, are seen in the store smashing the showcases with a pry bar and removing the jewelry and stuffing it in a large canvas bag.

There is likely some significant damage to the rear of the truck.

Two days later, on the morning of April 9, the Coquitlam RCMP responded to a break-in at Hudson’s Bay at Coquitlam Centre that was similar to the one that occurred in Langley.

Security camera footage shows two men breaking into the store and heading directly to the jewelry department. Once there, they smashed a number of showcases with a crowbar and stole many pieces of jewelry. They fled the scene afterward in a black pickup truck.

The first suspect is described as around 5’10” tall with medium build.

He was wearing a grey hoodie and sweat pants,  pair of gloves, and white shoes.

The second suspect is described as also around 5’10” tall with medium build.

He was wearing a mask, a black hoodie with a beige jacket, and jeans.
