The annual Discovery Passage Passage went off without a hitch on Saturday morning as 151 paddlers in canoes, kayaks, rowboats and even dragonboats re-enacted the historical method of crossing to Cape Mudge Village.

Paddlers set off from the Campbell River harbour and made their way across Discovery Passage to arrive to a traditional welcome from the people of Cape Mudge. The village welcome also included a tribute to the comunity’s effort to combat suicide among First Nations communities.
