B.C. Hydro is replacing 37 aging power poles around the Capital Region in the next few months as part of its ongoing maintenance program.
The wooden poles, upwards of 50 years old, will be replaced without shutting off power in most cases, but drivers and pedestrians will likely see some minor delays related to safety precautions.
Hydro intends to replace 10,000 poles around the province by the end of the summer. If residents have any questions about the work, they can call 1-800-224-9376.
