Kelowna RCMP dog Ice nabbed a pair of suspects Saturday morning.

Kelowna RCMP Police Service Dog (PSD) Ice nabbed two break and enter suspects early Saturday morning in Kelowna.

Multiple RCMP officers responded to the area of Finns Road and Evans Court after police received a report of a commercial business alarm triggered in that area on Feb. 11 just after 4 a.m.

Live security camera footage from the scene, which clearly showed unknown suspects inside a fenced compound, enabled the RCMP to appropriately plan their response.

A Kelowna RCMP Police Dog Services handler attended the scene with PSD Ice and conducted a search of the secured compound. Ice located a suspect, who was subsequently taken into police custody. The male was found hiding beneath a trailer on the property and in possession of drug paraphernalia and nearly four grams of suspected Methamphetamine.

PSD Ice located a second suspect, this time lying in between pipes stored inside the secure compound of a neighboring property. The male, who was also taken into police custody, was found in possession of bags, flash lights, two-way radios and suspected stolen property.

A 42-year-old Kelowna man was held in police custody. He was later released from custody by the Courts on strict conditions.

A 34-year-old Kelowna man also faces potential charges. He was remanded into police custody and is expected to appear in Court on Tuesday.
