The ideas came pouring in at last week’s BC Ideas meeting in Queen Charlotte.More than 25 people came out Aug. 9 to brainstorm ideas, in an evening that host Ellen Cranston described as “interactive, informal, and enthusiastic.””We had paper all around Queen B’s,” said Ms Cranston, “and people just started writing things down so it was really amazing.”Ideas suggested by community members included a salt-water pool, trail improvements, outdoor exercise equipment, and a museum for Queen Charlotte, community theatre, a community greenhouse and a pickle ball court. Ms Cranston said she isn’t quite sure exactly what a pickle ball court is, but all suggestions are welcome.”Most of the are not over-the-top ideas,” she said, “They’re doable, with some seed money.”Ms Cranston, a member of Queen Charlotte village council, will be putting the ideas into proposals that will apply for BC Ideas grants, and says even if the village doesn’t get the money she will hold on to them to bring forward at council.
