100 Mile RCMP responded to 72 complaints and calls for service during the past week.
Impaired driver
On June 10, 100 Mile House RCMP received a report of a possible impaired driver last seen near Williams Lake travelling south on Highway 97 towards 100 Mile.
A vehicle description and plate number were provided. Police intercepted the vehicle on Highway 97 at 103 Mile and the male driver of the vehicle displayed symptoms of liquor consumption.
An approved roadside screening device was administered and the result was a fail. The driver was detained and transported to the 100 Mile RCMP Detachment where two breath samples were obtained of 190 and 180 mg per cent.
Charges of impaired driving and driving over the legal limit are being recommended to Crown against a 35-year-old Greenville resident who was released on a promise to appear for a court date in September.
Prohibited driver
On June 8, 100 Mile RCMP stopped a vehicle for a burnt-out headlight at the intersection of Highway 97 and Canim-Hendrix Lake Road north of 100 Mile.
Investigation revealed the 25-year-old male driver was prohibited from operating a motor vehicle in British Columbia and was also suspended under the Motor Vehicle Act.
The vehicle was impounded and the driver was issued an appearance notice to appear in 100 Mile House court in August.
Speeders nabbed
There were two vehicles impounded for seven days during the past week for excessive speed on Highway 97.
One vehicle was being operated at 55 km/h over the posted speed limit. The other vehicle was being operated at 96 km/h over the posted speed limit.
Both drivers were charged for excessive speed. Both drivers were from outside the 100 Mile House area.
