Workers clamber up a cellphone tower near Blue River. According to a letter from Telus, construction of Blue River tower, plus one near Vavenby and a third to go up near Wire Cache, was expedited by the efforts of Max Lentz as TNRD director for Thompson Headwaters (Area B). All three projects would still be scheduled for late 2012 otherwise. The Blue River tower is to become operational later this year. The one near Vavenby still needs power and will become operational early next year. Construction of the Wire Cache tower is to start next spring.
