Students were out in force Thursday to mark World Water Week and International Day of Happiness in a major celebration effort on campus.
From blowing bubbles to drawing in chalk on the the campus sidewalks, it seemed everyone found a way to catch a smile. Students also handed out free soup, a weekly event thanks to the generosity of Urban Harvest, and a band, My Kind of Karma, one member of which is a philosophy student on campus, played in the courtyard where a barbecue was underway.
A handful of students also demonstrated the importance of clean water by showing how dirty water many people walk an average of six kilometres a day in developing nations to access is—they had a jug of dirty water for sale.
