Intoxicated cyclist hit by vehicle in downtown Penticton

RCMP said the cyclist suffered minor injuries

No charges are being considered after an intoxicated cyclist was struck by a vehicle in downtown Penticton.

Const. James Grandy said the cyclist was riding on the sidewalk and then across the intersection of Nanaimo Avenue East and Ellis Street on Monday around 7 p.m. when they were hit.

“Investigation revealed the cyclist was intoxicated while riding and crossed the sidewalk without first stopping to make sure it was clear,” said Grandy.

RCMP said the cyclist suffered minor injuries and was taken to Penticton Regional Hospital.
