Intoxicated Kelowna man arrested after gun threat

No charges are expected for the 37-year-old Kelowna man who made a gun threat at Mission Creek Regional Park.

An intoxicated 37-year-old Kelowna man was taken into custody near the intersection of Dilworth Drive and Springfield Road at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday after making a threat that he had a gun. Kelowna RCMP plan to release the man without charges when he is sober.

An intoxicated 37-year-old Kelowna man was taken into custody near the intersection of Dilworth Drive and Springfield Road Wednesday afternoon.

Kelowna RCMP responded after receiving a report that the man, who was panhandling at Mission Creek Regional Park, made a threat that he had a gun.

Police determined the man was unarmed upon arresting him. Sgt. Wade Seversen said the man was put in a cell and would be released without charges when he was determined sober.
