Intruder slashes Whalley man

A Whalley man is nursing slash wounds after finding an intruder in his carport this week.

At 2:25 a.m. Thursday, police were called to a home in the 9800-block 138 Street of Whalley.

They arrived to find a 47-year-old resident of the home suffering from two slashes from a sharp object.

The victim heard some noise coming from his carport, which he initially thought was animals.

He confronted a man who he believed was trying to steal things from the carport

An altercation ensued, and the resident was slashed.

Both wounds were superficial and were treated by paramedics.

The Police Dog Service was called to track the suspect, but the scent was lost.

The suspect male is described as a Caucasian male, 35-45 years old, about 6′ tall, medium build with a shaved head wearing a camouflage-style jacket.

Police are asking that anyone who witnessed this incident or has information on the suspect,  to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502, or to call Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
