The staff at the Dairy Queen (DQ), in Invermere is once again showing its charitable side as they raise funds for Dave Mesenchuk and his family.
In November while on his way to work Mesenchuk was involved in a serious car accident which resulted in a spinal cord injury.
From now until April 10 the DQ will be donating $2 from every box of novelties sold.
Janine Sweetman, managing partner of the Dairy Queen in Invermere said the staff at the DQ wanted to do something to raise money.
“We wanted to do our part and help out. We are all a part of one big family in the communities,” she said.
The goal of the staff is to raise $1,000 by April 10 and will get whatever money raised to the family as soon as possible.
Being able to do things to help out in the community is one of the aspects of Sweetman’s job that she enjoys. Anyone interested in learning more about the fundraiser can call the DQ in Invermere at 250-342-9933.
“In the end we hope everyone likes ice cream and will come by to help out,” she said.
