The winners are in for the first ever Window Display Decorating Contest.

River Gems Jewellery and Fossil Gallery has snagged first prize for their seasonal decorating as the inaugural Window Display Decorating Contest comes to a close. River Gems impressed judges with their “quartz garden” display, and picked up a full page ad in The Valley Echo and a plaque to display in store for their efforts.

The contest, run by the Columbia Valley Chamber of Commerce’s Invermere Business Committee, had 30 entries and brought plenty of festive cheer to downtown Invermere and points beyond throughout December and late November.

Mercer and Company’s white tree nabbed second place in the competition. Below, owner Leanne Tegart accepts her prize of Calgary Flames tickets from the Invermere Business Committee’s Jocelyn Brunner.

For their third place effort Black Star Studios picked up a gift basket of holiday goodies from Be Gifted. From left to right: Brunner and Black Star co-owner Cajsa Fredin. Not pictured: Natalie Ruby and Jen Abra.
