In the story ‘Body found on Hwy. 16 at Six Mile Hill’ published in the Lakes District News’ Apr. 15, 2015, http://www.ldnews.net/news/298983931.html, a body had been found on Hwy. 16 near the Six Mile brake check, which is located halfway between Burns Lake and Houston.
Corporal D.J. (Dave) Tyreman, Spokesperson for the RCMP, said the cause of death is still under investigation and that the RCMP is waiting for autopsy results.
“May be a medical issue, but not sure until we get the report,” he said.
On April 7, 2015, at 11:45 a.m. the Houston RCMP received a call from a highway maintenance worker that he had located the body of a First Nations man in the ditch on Hwy. 16.
