100 Mile House RCMP responded to 73 calls for service during the past week. Some highlights are as follows:
Impaired driving
On Jan. 15, Cariboo Chilcotin Traffic Services stopped a vehicle on Highway 97 near 90 Mile House as the driver was using his cell phone.
When the member spoke with the male driver, symptoms of alcohol consumption were detected.
A roadside breath test was conducted where the driver provided a warn sample.
The driver was issued an immediate roadside prohibition for three days and was also served violation tickets for open liquor in a motor vehicle, no drivers license, and use of an electronic device.
Stolen truck
On Jan. 14, 2017, RCMP received a report of a stolen truck from a residence on the 5000 block of Horse Lake Rd.
It had been reported that a 2017 Ford F150 had been taken by a person who was staying at the residence. Several hours later the vehicle was observed by Williams Lake RCMP.
The vehicle was stopped and the driver was arrested for possession of stolen property.
Charges will be sought for possession of stolen property against a 37-year-old male resident of Vancouver Island.
No insurance
On Jan. 12, members of the Cariboo Chilcotin Traffic Services and 100 Mile RCMP conducted a check stop on Exeter Station Rd. Several vehicles were stopped.
Violations relating to no vehicle insurance and no drivers license were issued.
Break and enter
On Jan. 10, RCMP received a report of a break and enter from a residence on the 500 block of Birch Ave.
A variety of tools including an air compressor and hoses were taken. It is believed to have occurred sometime on Jan. 9.
The door to the residence was not locked while the occupant of the home was away.
Damaged locks
On Jan. 10, RCMP received a report of mischief to an outbuilding at Forest Grove Elementary School. It was reported that a lock on a shed door had been damaged.
Nothing was taken from the shed and snowmobile tracks were observed nearby.
