Jewelry store robbed in Saanich

Two men entered store around 4 p.m. Thursday, smashed glass cabinet and fled with jewelry within seconds: Saanich police

Two men brazenly robbed a jewelry store in the 4200-block of Carey Rd. yesterday, and the suspects are still at large.

Around 4 p.m., two men entered the business with their faces covered and smashed a glass display cabinet, said Saanich police Sgt. Steve Eassie.

“Within seconds, the suspects grabbed a quantity of jewelry and fled the store on foot,” Eassie said. The men fled northbound on Carey Road in the direction of Wilkinson Road.

A K9 unit was dispatched but police were unable to locate the suspects.

“Police investigators are making efforts to retrieve video footage from the store,” Eassie said. “The video will not be shared with the public at this time.”
