An Okanagan rink is one step away from heading to the Olympics.

The John Morris rink won the Roar of the Rings semi-final Saturday, beating Olympic champion Kevin Martin 7-5.

The winning stone was thrown by Vernon’s Jim Cotter.

“For 39 years you have been my little brother. Today, I’ve never been so proud of that fact,” said sister Chelan Cotter on Jim’s Facebook page.

Morris, Cotter, Tyrel Griffith and Rick Sawatsky will now play Brad Jacobs, of Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. during the Roar of the Rings final Sunday at 11:30 a.m. The winner of that match will represent Canada at the Olympics in Sochi, Russia.
