Vanderhoof’s RCMP detachment lodged 93 files, which included 14 prisoners, in the past week.

Cases included assaults, prohibited drivers, and motor vehicle collisions. Number of impaired drivers identified have also increased, in comparison to past weeks.

Fuel theft

The police is urging those affected by vehicle fuel thefts to report to the local detachment, despite their concerns in lack of evidence left by thieves for officers to track down.

This month, the RCMP received a notable number of reports across the district of Vanderhoof — with two alone in the last week — of fuel siphoned from gas tanks of personal vehicles, most of which were parked by residences.

With all incidents of fuel thefts noted, the police will be more equipped to find trends and patterns of when and where the incidents are occurring.
