Kalavista Drive boat launch shut down

Coldstream officials expect water line repairs will be completed by the end of Friday

Anyone heading to Kalamalka Lake for a day of boating should make alternate plans.

The District of Coldstream has shut down the Kalavista Drive boat launch today (Friday).

“There is a water line leak right in front of the boat launch,” said Trevor Seibel, chief administrative officer.

“Crews are in the process of fixing the repair right now.”

It’s not known when the launch will reopen but the goal is by the end of Friday.

Seibel admits the closure will inconvenience some boaters.

“There would have been a whole lot more people unhappy if it was on Saturday or Sunday because it’s supposed to be nice weather this weekend,” he said.

Anyone wanting to access Kal Lake, can use the Kinloch, Westkal or Kekuli boat launches today.
