Members of three Kelowna bands, including the popular Yukon Blonde, played to a crowd of close to 2,000 on Monday afternoon at City Park on the Red Bull Tour Bus stage as part of the company’s Hometown Tour, a five city cross Canada tour featuring bands playing in front of home town crowds.
Yukon Blonde, Family and Hunting played a free concert on Monday afternoon at City Park as part of the Red Bull Hometown Tour which began in Victoria on the weekend and will also stop in Winnipeg, Ottawa and Montreal with the Red Bull Tour Bus converting from bus to stage within an hour.
The event puts the spotlight on local bands playing in their hometowns and saw Yukon Blonde come back to the city where the band got its start.
Now based in Vancouver, Yukon Blonde originated in Kelowna and was known as Alphababy before changing its name. It has released three full length albums and an EP as Yukon Blonde.
