Kelowna General Hospital fire causes traffic problems

A fire on the lake side of KGH sees firefighters fanning out the building and traffic snarled in the Pandosy Hospital District

fireTraffic snarls in and around Kelowna General Hospital were all that remained of an electrical fire on the west side of the hospital complex by Monday evening.

Kelowna Fire Department was called to the Rehab Wing of KGH at the close of the work day to find a small fire near an electrical outlet and crews were able to extinguish it quickly.

Three engines, one ladder, one rescue, one command unit and a safety officer were sent to the scene where they were assisted by RCMP.

There were no injuries to patients or staff.
