A seven year-old girl from Kelowna is about to see her dream come true.
On April 16th, Myla Ganzeveld will be taking off for a week long trip to Disney World thanks to the Children’s Wish Foundation. Diagnosed with Rhabdoyosarcoma, a form of cancer, Myla’s wish was to visit Disney World with her family, which she will now be able to do.
“She’s beside herself. She’s stoked, she can’t wait,” said her gather Kyle Ganzeveld. “Words can’t even express how I feel about it. I’m just happy she could get to this place where she could be excited about something like that.”
Three months ago, Myla received terrific news as she was officially in remission. Now, in just over two weeks, she’ll be able to truly celebrate at Disney World.
“Miracles happen, and the Children’s Wish Foundation is just adding to the happiness of someones who basically didn’t have a whole lot of happiness for a while,” her father said.
Myla will be travelling with her sister, mother and father for the week long trip, and Kyle noted the trip has one specific purpose.
“It’s all about Myla as far as I’m concerned,” he said. “I’m unbelievably happy that I get to see the look on her face as soon as we get there.”
“Thank you very much, from all of us, to everyone that supported us, especially the foundation that people donate to. We’re very happy to be a part of it and going on this trip.
Over the past 30 years, the Children’s Wish Foundation has helped 23,000 children with serious illnesses experience their dreams.
