Kelowna house damaged by fire

Residents of home in 600-block of McClure Road forced to evacuate the house.

Damage was extensive to a four-floor split level in the 600-block of McClure Road just after 7:30 p.m. Sunday night.

The first Kelowna firefighters responding to the scene were confronted by a fire shooting flames out of the roof. The fire was quickly knocked out but the damage caused by the blaze was extensive.

The Kelowna Fire Department says the cause of the fire is unknown at this time as the fire investigators continues, although it does not appear to be suspicious.

No one was hurt and the two home owners are in the care of Emergency Social Services.
