Kelowna RCMP look to the public for help with assault

Severe beating puts young man in hospital and RCMP on alert as they try to piece together what happened

Police are investigating an aggravated assault after a 23-year-old man from Kelowna was sent to hospital with serious injuries early this morning.

Shortly after midnight, the Kelowna RCMP were called to break up a fight in front of the Starbucks coffee shop on Bernard Avenue at Pandosy Street.

Witnesses said a group of men had been in a fight in front of the store and fled toward Harvey Avenue before the police arrived.

The officers found a 23-year-old man lying in the street who had been severely beaten. He was rushed to hospital and is listed in serious, though stable, condition.

Three suspects have been taken into custody and the RCMP are looking to the public for further information. The victim is from Kelowna.
