The Kelowna RCMP are looking to speak with two men after a surveillance video appeared to show them taking an abandoned purse from a restaurant this past weekend.

Saturday evening, a purse was stolen from Original Joe’s Bar and Grill, located at 2728 Pandosy Street.

The owner of the purse was gathering with some friends at the restaurant, and the group was soon too large to stay at the table.  When the group was moved, the purse was forgotten at the first table.

Video provided by the restaurant shows two men entering the restaurant and being seated at the far end. The pair then proceed to the table containing the abandoned purse and leave the restaurant shortly after. One of the men appears to take the purse with him using a route that avoids detection by the owner seated nearby.

The surveillance video was released online by a third party and police have since received some tips. The investigation is ongoing in order to confirm the identity of the two men and determine their whereabouts. No arrests have yet been made.

The surveillance video was not released by the RCMP.
