Kelowna Subway robbery suspect leaves without dough

Staff of a downtown Subway Restaurant are shaken, but uninjured, after an unknown man came into the store, brandished what appeared to be a knife and demanded cash Sunday night.

Kelowna RCMP responded received a report of attempted robbery at 9:17 p.m. Sunday. An unknown man entered the Subway restaurant at 1100 Lawrence Ave. and demanded money from the cash register.

The two staff members working at the time were able to barricade themselves into a back room and the man left the scene on foot, empty-handed.

No one was injured in the incident and the investigation is ongoing.

The suspect is described as a five-foot-six Caucasian man with a slender build. He was last seen wearing a black zip-front hoodie with white hood strings, blue jeans, dark shoes and a single white glove.
