Keremeos saw a drop in the number of bylaw calls over the first six months of 2021 compared to 2020.

In a report to the village council on Aug. 3, the total number of issued infractions dropped by 12.7 per cent, going from 55 over the first six months of 2020 down to 48 over the first six of 2021.

The largest drop was in the number of property infractions, which went from 30 in 2020 to 21 over the first six months of the year. Zoning issues also dropped by half, going from 10 to five.

There were no traffic or burning bylaw violations in 2021 so far, while there were three and one respectively in 2020.

Up this year so far have been ‘other’ infractions, and dog or cat related bylaw infractions.

The number of noise complaints over the first six months of the year didn’t change, with two infractions issued in both 2020 and 2021.

In 2021, there were six infractions that didn’t fit into the other categories.
