The washrooms in Memorial Park were destroyed during a drunken rampage, police allege sometime overnight on April 18.
Cpl. Brian Evans from the Keremeos RCMP detachment said the washrooms suffered serious damage at the hands of a culprit or culprits who had been drinking.
“There was evidence on scene that alcohol was involved. It’s a very frustrating, senseless crime and we’re looking for any information on that,” he said.
Destroyed were the change tables, soap dispensers and the inside stall doors in all three washrooms at the park. The damage is pegged at close to $5,000.
The village has insurance on the vandalism and the washrooms are expected to be repaired.

Officers from the Keremeos detachment were called to a home in Olalla for a disturbance issue on April 18.
Once there officers were told a tenant assaulted her neighbour and attempted to stab the neighbour with a knife.
“The person wasn’t wounded in the altercation but the attempt was there,” Cpl. Brian Evans from the RCMP detachment said.
The woman, who is well-known by police, was taken to the Keremeos detachment where she was brought to justice and remanded in custody. She remains in custody and will next appear in court on May 3.
